Grant Moss is a Senior Lecturer in Music at Smith College, where he has served as Organist to the College since 1983. He holds music degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Yale University. Over the years, he has appeared as a soloist at the summer organ festivals at Methuen (MA) and Round Lake (NY), the Great Organ Music at Yale series, and in concerto performances with the Five College Orchestra, the Valley Festival Orchestra, the Amherst College Orchestra and the Pioneer Valley Symphony. Church music has long been a part of his life, starting in 8th grade in his home town of Syracuse, NE, then at St. Joseph RC parish in Lincoln, NE, while going to the University, finally at Christ Episcopal Church in West Haven, CT during his time of study at Yale. The Smith Chapel (Helen Hills Hills) held both Protestant and Catholic services for many years, and Grant played for both until the College found other ways to support students' religious and spiritual lives. He is very happy to be a part of St. John's musical life, and looks forward to more serious fun!
